Abstract
There are several types of memory related with language processes, each with its own structural requirements in the cortex. Common distinctions like those between short term and long term memory or episodic and semantic memory are not sufficient to account for the observable phenomena. Understanding texts uses memory in a complex way.
This work tries to draw some conclusions coming out of the discussions in parts 2, 4, and 5, concerning the representation of contents in the cortex, lexical and syntactic processing and the influence of context for understanding new informations. Different sorts of short term memory and different forms of utilization of long term memory traces must be considered.
