Cortical Linguistics
Abstract
If we consider the linguistic fields traditionally referred to as "phonetics" and "phonology" from the viewpoint of cortical processes and their requirements, some principally new perspectives emerge. The discrimination between the two disciplines has to be revised. New arguments concerning the problem of the status of phonetic and phonological markers can be found. Finally it will be possible to come to claims about parts of language processing hitherto not focussed in scientific investigations.
